Well got home and pulled off the waste gate actuator and rod. Seized solid. Got it soaking atm and hopefully will free up. If not they look like they are only available as part of a complete turbo assembly. Does anyone know if you can buy the actuator and rod as a stand alone item if so is it likely anyone in Perth could have one in stock?
Cheers

Just had the same sort of problem with a D3 here, yep its a whole turbo just to get actuator (electronic), surely it wouldnt be the same for a TD5 .(in fact for the TDV6 , you can buy/get just a rod and knuckle kit . Whats Rovacraft have to say ?

Hi there Graig,
Have a look in the Markets Section, NWalker has a TD5 Turbo for sale. It was diagnosed incorrectly and replaced. Might be an option for you if you don't want to buy a complete new turbo.

Hello,
If you are going to buy a new turbo I would suggest a VNT from B.A.S, my turbo needed rebuilding but it was cheaper and quicker to get one from him and a re-map all under the price of one here mine landed was $1100 had it in less than a week.

If nothing comes up in Oz, I would call around the UK turbo shops that do LR stuff. They may be able to source parts. Garrett like to sell you 1 whole turbo....arent they nice :D

All good thanks guys, I did get it to free up, but took a bit.
Also found a small split in some of the vac tubing.
PIA that you have to buy the whole turbo, just for an actuator.
The turbo blades themselves seemed a bit tight, so I could be up for a turbo in the near future, so may look at a VNT rather than the standard unit.
