Hi All,

Just wanted to know, can you get an e-diff fitted after you have purchased disco 4?. Will the dealership fit it? Is it covered under warranty with post fittment?.

cheers

To answer your questions, NO !, NO ! & NO !.

Once the vehicle has been built, that's it.

LRA will not warrant the fitment either.

Others have done it, but apparently not a lot of fun, use the SEARCH section.

Lots of questions about lots of things have already been asked and answered; the search function can be of great help.

In this case, about 15 threads below your thread is a very good discussion with references on how to actually install the E diff. I think once you have read the thread, you will agree that in a practical sense, sniegy's response of NO, NO and NO, is understated.

Also note the write-up from the UK was for an early-model D3. Not a D4.

I have recently spoken With "tlt". he said he is getting together the retrofit kits, with e-diff, wiring, etc, for sale. From my discussion with him I would rank him the current expert in this area. The kits as I understand it are for the D3. I believe he is also on this forum and i know he is on the lrrf forum.

No, No, No.....Yes......Maybe

And this is probably the most correct answer, seeing as e-diffs have been successfully retrofitted to D3s and probably will have been retrofitted to D4s before too long.

I'd like to hear the parts cost total!
I know the eDiff is over $3000 alone.

I know the eDiff is over $3000 alone. At $1060 for the eDiff as an option on a new car, you'd be spending the $ on the purchase price.

Granted if you already have the car or it's second hand the option price is not available.
