My wife's Astra needs new rotors fitted. Are they straight bolt on or are there any pitfalls? Jim

If you are talking about a late model (European) Astra, then fitting rotors is straight forward.

You will need a selection of male and female torx bits to undo the caliper mounts and the rotor to hub bolts.

Everything is easy, but be prepared to get covered in huge amounts of black brake dust. Fit new pads at the same time.

Thanks Big Jon. It is the european model. I have a set of Torx bits so I will try through the week. Jim

When you retract the caliper pistons make sure you undo the brake bleed nipples to prevent fluid from going back up the hoses.

There will be 4 stud and 5 stud rotors available, 4 stud = no ABS, 5 stud = with ABS.

Dependant on the model, you may need an adaptor to fit into the rear piston to wind them back.
