I'm torn....can't decide...255 or 285?

I know this topic has been thrashed to bits on this forum and I have got a lot of advice from everyone... I just can't decide.

I went ahead and picked up a set of 16 x 8 Dynamic rims but looking at the 285/75 sized tyre, I am worried it is just a little too big...especially for the poor old 300TDi.

I really like the look of my current wolf rims, but at 6.5" wide I am a little concerned about putting on 255's to such a narrow rim - my rims are tubed rims so no lip to hold bead of tyre. Are there any pictures out there of 255's on wolf rims and are there any issues with this combination?

Hey Andrew,
Had this same problem, cries of yes no yes no...
But finally I went for 8" King rims, nuetral off set with 285x75x16 Mickey T's MTZ.
I pick up ttyres tomorrow but have to wait until April for the rims. I'll post picture once their on.

Id Go with the 285's mate, it's a good size :)

255/85's are perfectly legal and safe on the 6.5" rim and IMO works well for off road use and the potential for crap under the bead as the bead is further away from the action than on a wider rim.

Made so many mods to the deefer but by far the best was fitting 255's. It is program upgraded, must state that. Not sure how it would be in standard tune.
