Does anyone know if there are differences between the diesel and V8 Defender instrument panels and warning lamp module.

I have a V8 one and can get bits off a 300TDi panel thats available. The vehicle is being converted to 4BD1 so looking for the bits I need to acquire for the conversion.

One item in particular is the V8 panel has only water temp and fuel gauges, will the 300Tdi have anything different?

The 4BD1 Counties only have speedo, water temp, a rough estimate of fuel and an ammeter as gauges. AFAIR the 300tdi's have a combined ammeter/water temp gauge with the clock moved to the instrument panel too so kick the clock out and you'll have room for something useful.

Thanks Mark

The Defender one I have has water temp, fuel tank and a blanking plug. Ages ago I saw a 2" tacho suitable for Defender, so was looking at that option for the blank.

What I am really interested in is the warning lamp module and if there is anything particularly diesel on the 300TDi panel, something like a glow plug warning lamp etc?

On my 4BD1 There is an orange light that flicks on for a split second when starting - which according to my manual is not where the glow plug warning light should be...

Glow plugs are not needed at all on a 4BD1/T - even in the coldest winter in the Australian alps.
