Hi, I'm just wondering if any one can help with this, on the back of my Defender I've noticed that the badge is mounted higher then normal and instead of the Defender 110 sticker it has just got one of a "hat"?. It looks like "Les Hiddins" hat. The car is a 95 model (built in October 94) and every thing else is the same as any other Defender. Any ideas? I'm not worried just curious to know a bit more..

Does it have tool holders on the bonnet ?

If so, it's a Defender Tanami, a limited edition that was signed off by Les Hiddins and had some wild stripes down the side that a lot of people removed.

I had a read of that thread you posted and at the end of page four there is a photo of a Tanami bonnet, my'n doesn't have the tool holders but it does have a lot of rivets and taking a closer look at the pattern and comparing it to the other one they are in the same places where the tool holders used to be so someone must have removed them at some stage. My vehicle doesn't have an insect screen on the grill but has some little clips that I am supposing were for that, its got the Safari snorkel, dog guard, the original Landrover bull bar, no roof rack but there is marks on the gutters where the mounts were and obviously the "wild stripes" have been taken off which I'm not complaining about!!
I'll have to keep an eye out for some tool holders.
Thanks for your help rick130, I have discovered something very interesting today:)
