Has anyone tried for an engineering report in NSW, or elsewhere for that matter, for a child restraint exemption?
Under the new rules cars on club plates just have to obtain an engineers report on the infeasibility of fitting a restraint to Australian standards ( www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/.../historic_vehicle_clubs_policy.pdf ).
My Series 1 80" is just on standard roadworthy and I plan to keep it that way. After a conversation with someone from the RTA - they suggest that if they are allowing the exemption for cars on club plates that you should be able to apply for the same exemption for a vehicle that could be on either club plates or a normal roadworthy providing you get the engineering report.
No Moralizing Please. :)
