Sticky wing mirrors

My wing mirrors are making a fuss when folding in and out as locking/unlocking. sort of squeeky grinding of plastic with mirror shutering as it moves. Anyone else having this issue and any easy fix? I did try wd40 but no good. noticed my disco 4 which is only 7k old starting to do the same. Will get looked at with next service but is a ways off.

They're supposed to be self lubricating - try moving them in/out by hand a few times before spraying.
