Over the past 4 months the fuel economy on my td5 has declined, it used to be around 13L/100klm but now I am getting around 16 - 17L/100klm.
The MAF readings look normal (60 at idle, 550 under load) and the engine seems to run ok and pulls happily up hills.
so... I tried a stall test, the nanocom idle reading stabilised at 2940rpm, now this would appear to be a bit higher than normal (around 2800 I think?).
So my question is, a) do I have a TC problem coming my way and b) at this current stage would it account for the poor fuel economy ?
The auto fluid was changed 12 months ago (12,000K's) and hasn't done much work, the fluid level is good. car has 160K on clock...
Any other ideas about where to look for those extra few litres of diesel would be appreciated ;)
