18in tyre choice?

Can anyone suggest or recommend some tyres for my 04 td6 rangie? I do a lot of dirt/country road driving as well as some off roading. Didn't have much luck with coopers on my defender, so am looking at Mickey t's or generals? But any feedback or experience would be great.

Have a look through the RRS/D3/D4 section and you will find plenty on 18" tyres that would be suitable for a FFRR.

This may be of interest, I recently imported from Tire Rack (US) a set of 265/65/18's, landed here for $380 ea. compared to quotes here for $550 !
I went for the higher profile to give a bit more clearance and buffer for rims when on unmade roads. They seem OK for clearance after I modified the Fuel filler cover (RH Rear wheel cavity). I have previously had a good run with General Grabbers in standard size, (Cobourg Peninsular and Gulf road lost year without incident)

Hi, I got 70,000klm out of my scorpion atr's, happy with that.
just been quoted $258 all up for grabber AT2 and $231 for a nankang highway tyre. paid $458 for the scorpion's :o

looks like the grabber's are the go but i fancy some stormer's though .

Thanks for that, stupidly I bought 8 nankang drive tyres for my western star prime movers last year, normally get 30-40,000km out of drive tyres on most brands, nankangs...15-20,000km....not impressed, so won't be putting nankangs on the rangie, think I will try the generals, thanks for your advice.

Just to say, I put AT2's on mine coming into the Winter here in Ireland (I know different climate and terrain than you experience) but I have to say I love these tyres on my L322. Great traction, rain and snow and not really any noisier at and slightly above Motorway speeds!!!!

Was going to switch back to Goodyears for the Summer but I'm not going to bother now and will leave the AT2s on.

Thanks for the heads up on the nankangs, will give them a miss too. really need an A/T so might give the grabbers a go.
stormers and LTZ's would be nice ;)
