Last Friday I had need to travel from the Hills District to the domestic air terminal and arrive around 5.15 am. Leaving home just after 4am and then returning home just before 6am I noticed ny remote toll device did not beep on any of the toll roads. It worked fine later in the day and I was wondering if toll roads are free overnight. Can anyone answer this? Jim:):):)

Jim, no chance mate. Sometimes the tags don't trigger for some reason - you can guarantee that they'll add the toll charges to your account once your vehicles number plate has been reconciled against their accounts.

Richard

What do your pollies do to butter up industry leaders for a job post their term in politics? (Read Greiner)

In NSW the polies hand over Government infrastructure to private enterprise so they can suppliment their own superannuation. Your pollies must have some other method that avoids toll roads in WA!

I read in this morning's Courier Mail that when the Speaker in the Senate said "senator Carr"... "Bob" stood up to speak but was ordered to sit down because the nod had been given to his namesake Senator Kim Carr, whom the Ranga you will recall recently demoted.

According to the paper, the wits on the opposing benches are referring to him as Used Carr......life can be cruel...mind you, I'd have thought that tag applied to both of them...so the Govt now has a small Used Carr lot in the Senate :wasntme:

When Carr finnished up as premier his achievements for many years service was to inflict 80% of the population with advancments in poetry and literature.as i said inflict as only 20-40% of australians have any interest i such cultural advancements.
leaving 60-80% stuggling with education system designed to keep children off the unemployment list. health system designed to reduce the population.transport system designed to keep the population at home.

Blogger carr is a good read and academic carr is great americal cival war buff-has a good guide to leaving sydney for the real america.

it was often said that he didnt drive a car so he had a government driver and that everone should.if only the trains and busses=ferries worked after he left.

i think the toll roads came after Wall Murry-but we all know that one side cant organise a fishing trip.

hopefull Carr will do as he always done and we invade the usa.as long as in not new guinea or fiji i happy.

Three major Sydney Toll roads pre-date Bob Carr as NSW Premier.

The M5 Toll Road was planned and opened under the Liberal premier Nick Greiner, the same person who reduced rail passenger services to the North Coast and is now in charge of the Infrastructure NSW and had some involvement in the Cross City Tunnel.

Nick Greiner is also responsible for placing a set of toll booths on the previously free F4 Western motorway to fund the construction of the missing link between Westmead and Prospect.

Nick Greiner was also the Premier when the M2 Motorway went from a planned freeway to a toll road with the company reaping the profits for 45 years.

Bob Carr was premier when the M7 was constructed and opened.

Don't let Bob Carr off the hook too quickly, he was the major reason vast areas of the NSW's state recreation areas were re-designated as national parks and 4WDs immediately locked out.

The final straw for me was his banning of Jet Skis from Sydney Harbour with a remark along the lines of "I won't have those things on my harbour"
And I don't even own a jet ski or am prepared to pay the exorbitant extra fee to be allowed to drive one.
