Hello good fellows!

My muched loved s3 is starting to Cause me much pain. I have done quite a lot to her, learning every step of the way as this is my first landy I have ever owned and worked on. (im no mechanic! Im a plumber!!) I'm desperate to see her on the road but would love some advice or even a little help. She is just about there but insists on blowing white smoke which smells like unburnt deisel. The pump has room to eighter be advanced or retarded but I would much rather have someone over my shoulder that knows what their doing. I have asked a landrover mech that's close but they didn't seem to want to know about it and I dont really trust someone that doesn't spesialize in LR's. I am more then willing to pay cash, barter with some plumbing work.... A top shelf bottle of single malt whiskey!!!! Whatever your heart desires.... I just want help. I'm on the southside of brissy near mt gravatt. Let me know if you can help.
Many thanks, dirty Girty.

White smoke......have you taken it for a run and got it up to operating temp? Chances are if its been sitting for a few years it could have some stuck rings from condensation.....or bad fuel if you haven't changed it, a good run as loaded as you can get it....like a steep hill in a gear that makes it work....may clear it up. A filter change and clean, fresh fuel would be a good starting point. White smoke usually is not expensive or terminal, at worst needing new squirters.

Hey thanks for the reply.... It's already had two tank drains with fresh diesel put back in. The injectors have been reco'd, I have primed the lines to the best of my ability... I tried to attempt doing the timing but ended up bending the push rods like question marks (so I don't want to attempt it solo again) so I changed the whole engine.... I've had the current motor up and running and it seems to run fine except the towers of smoke and I have even tried to take it for a sneaky run around the block... It just has no power so I have to put into low range to get her back home.... If its anything to do with the diesel system then I have a whole other donor motor with a good pump, filter and new timing gear up the front.... Like I said just a little worried to attempt it alone again.. :(

2.25D white smoke at idle...?

nahhh dont worry about it, If your concerned pop over and I'll fire up fozzy for ya.... that'll stop anyone worrying about the white smoke they get when the engines cold.
