Next G Aerial Mount

I'm only new to the Forum and this question has probably been answered many times but has anybody fitted a Next G antenna to a non-nudge bar Freelander 2? I'm thinking near the bonnet but the experts say I'll need a custom made bracket. Any clues please.

I had a 6DB pre next G on my RRC which I used for Next G.( same frequency)
Anyway i found it had limitations ,as if you were in hilly country you could hear the incoming conversation , but because of the narrow beam of the 6DB, the other party could not hear you.

I had it gutter mounted and eventually wiped it out reversing under a Motel entrance .

Anyway, I replaced it with a 4DB , which is only 70MM long and drilled the centre of the roof which gives a great ground plane.

You may not want to drill the roof , but a gutter mount little stubby will give you almost as good reception, except in dead flat country. And will not be complained about by the better half, and will not be wiped out on low hanging stuff.

Thanks for your advice Philip. No I can't see me drilling a hole in the roof of a new car but will investigate gutter option. Regards peter
