I think I am starting to understand why we don't see too many group buys happening through this forum!
In saying that, any one interested in P38 discreet winch mounts and rock sliders? The bushes process has at least forced me to get a final result on an outstanding job!

Winch mount, rock sliders.....Tell me more!
Rock sliders are on the way through hard range already... I just want to help out a bit and get some numbers for a batch run. The pricing the boys had worked out already was good and the design I have seen is solid and pretty.
The discreet winch mount will be pretty much the same behind the bumper 2 inch receiver style as the Junosi home made version on here a while ago. Will post some pic's when I get a chance. This will be made to "tradesman" quality and standard but offered for private off road use only.
Main reason being I don't think it will be engineered or tested to the same degree as the big winch bar manufacturers do.
The more in the cheaper this should be. Targeting well under the $200 mark.

Under $200 will probably get me.
I've got a tow bar ready to cut up but can't weld for ****, so something pre done and guranteed to fit would be great!

Sounds like my status to date on it too.
I even went out and bought welding gear and enquired about TAFE courses! Now realize I want pro welding straight up. Will probably end up practicing welding on my trailer frame work, not something thats gotta bear up to 3 ton of car and contents let alone fighting forces of mud or gravity.
Like the bushes, it is not a business venture so cost to me will be sell. And want it to be as lean a cost as possible, so probably not even gonna paint them. I figure most people can sort that bit depending on their needs and budget.

Definitely interested in a 'discreet' winch mount at that price... .
Do the rock sliders also double as "running boards"... then again, guess I could always lower the suspension to Access:angel:

Hmm. Winch mount. I have a winch sitting under the workbench........ :)
Maybe even rock sliders but I'm not sure what I'd use them for.

Dave, keep going, you are doing a grand job here.
I am def interested in a discreet front winch mount and a rock slider. I already have a winch on a winch tray that plugs into my rear towbar hitch, a front access point would make me INVINCIBLE! :)
We need pics! :)

Pretty sure they stick out enough to get a toe or two on, but are higher and closer to the sills than factory running boards/side steps. Will get example photo's up soon.

Stay calm people. Thats great feedback there... although your timing is ****ty! We would rather know now than too late though. Can you PM me the brand name so I can be sure we don't end up with them.

Seems a fair bit of interest in the winch mount and sliders. Maybe time to start a new thread and run up the numbers.
By the way, something else I'm after is a spare wheel carrier. I'm thinking of something that connects to the existing towbar, not a full rear bar, or even into the hitch receiver itself. Any ideas. Could your fabricator make something like that?

I've split the posts off to this new thread.

I have seen the pictures of rock sliders on Hard Range , keen on getting my hands on some . At the time pictures were posted they were still manufacturing and testing them and not ready for sale yet.

Yeah would like to order a winch mount also, so how do we go about ordering one? Also does it come with some sort of instructions in how to install them? And will it fit onto a standard bumper and bull bar?

Trev,
Have played with this idea myself in the past and have theorised that a heavy duty haymen reese mounted bike carrier complete with drop down hinge to allow access to the rear could be modified to hold a spare with out too much trouble (see photo below). Not real pretty, but functional. However, it would again have to be an item for off road use only given there are engineering requirements (and possibly laws in some states) that it may not be able to meet.
There are already some reese mount versions on the market in the USA that have massive mechanisms and swing away arms for access, but they are quite large and expensive.
I'm happy to do a bit more research when this other stuffs up and going.

I would be interested in the front winch mount (some pictures would be nice) and the spare wheel mount but would have to be able to fit with trailer in tow

Ok so it's the only pic I can find and it's of the prototype completed by Junosi (a fellow P38'ing AULRO-ian) a while back. It is of the same design I have been planning which was sort of a copy of a Swedish P38'ing chap called RonRon.
It is a cut down RRC rear tow hitch with plates welded to the ends. Holes are drilled in the plates to match and use the existing factory accessory winch mount holes in the front chassis rails. It sits behind the factory bumper (and A bar if fitted) and requires a small hole to be cut through the bumper for the 2 inch receiver to poke out (behind the number plate location).
The batch for this forum will probably be the same style and hopefully will include cut down HR hitches as they make a very good quality reenforced rated product. They even xray all their welds which I know this batch probably couldn't afford on such a limited run. They will be professionally welded with the intended purpose explained clearly to the tradesman so they produce suitable strength welds.
Photo's of Hard Range sliders will come from the boys when possible... I am simply getting a list of customers together for batch #1 and helping out with coordination of that (and maybe production if needs - TBA).

Certainly keen for this winch mount now.
Just found this site that has great prices on winch and tray.
Maybe do a group buy for these too!!
HERCULES 12000LB WINCH DYNEEMA - Tigerz11 (http://tigerz11.com.au/products/HERCULES-12000LB-WINCH-DYNEEMA-.html)
Keep p the good work DT

Just checked out the pricing on the tigerz11 link in previous post and the site is chock a block full of bargains!
If you can step up the dollars, I would recommend going for the Grande winches as they can winch in and out and act as hoists (most more expensive units - like say warn - are not even rated do this).
The cradles are essential to using a discreet mount and also for winching from the rear. They are half price and you will not get them cheaper else where... I paid double that a year or so ago.
I just happily dropped $300+ on some rear awnings, an ezy deflator and hi lift wheel bracket because these prices are HOT!
Although it probably sounds different, I do not have any affiliation with these guys, I just love a bargain!

That's my version. Mounted on a 2inch front receiver. Kept the OEM design.https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2012/04/1438.jpg
