View Full Version : A muster of Ferguson Tractors

Over in Bendemeer today they had a muster of fergy tractors - the parade of grey fergies must have been at least 3km long and then when parked them on display they covered a few acres

In case you'd like to see what it was like I've put a few pics up

Older people will understand the Vanguard/Fergy connection with this pic of the Vanguard Panel Van

Fergy owners seem just like old LR owners in many ways... ;)

We can take part in next years event and let Jill drive it in the parade ;)

Waiting for the starter motor to come back from repairers, amazingly you can get nearly everything new for these tractors. Seems the wheel nuts are the same as land rovers too

Hi Jerry

That would be a 23 horse power TE20 petrol, is that oil on the rim of the rear wheel? if so the rear wheel bearing, oil seal will need replacing.
You probably know already, but the parts for these little tractors are cheap as.
Sparco, Bareco and Bepco, are your starting points for supply.

Are you going to return it to it's original configuration and put the 6volt electrics back in?
The other thing I would do, is fit foot plates on, as it simply makes driving a lot more safer and more comfortable.

What are the implements that came with the tractor?
.

Hi Arthur,
The tractor hadn't moved for two years and when we towed it oil did come out from the r/hand seal :( However it seemed to have stopped when we unloaded it from the truck. All the oils in it are new and luckily nothing was seized, hoping to get it going next week when the starter motor arrives back :)

I'll leave it as 12 volt as it has new alternator fitted, it has a plough attachment, an auger, a slasher, a rear crane and a bucket. Unfortunately the petrol tank got thrown out so will have to replace it. I'll get some of those foot plates fitted too. I purchased it for my eldest lad as he showed quite an interest in it, hopefully he'll keep it up.

The rear tyres are past their best and will need to be replaced, the other tractor that was with it had four new tyres on it but was sold before I could swap the wheels over :D

THE LAND ROVER ON A POLE, A SERIES 1... I'D LIKE IT!

half way down the page (land rover on a pole)

( <<edit>> --Looking at this I got the wrong end of the stick and obviously I thought you meant the landy on the pole...sorry!)

Thanks for the pics and I also agree as I have both too.

Bendemeer is just up the road from me and if I wasn't at work I would have been there. :(

I also agree with Harry re the Vanguard. My Dad had a grey '52 4 door wagon with rear barn doors. Bit like a Land Rover as we always seemed to be working on it. :D Got my licence in his later 6 cylinder Estate.

Great little park too. When we were there last there wasn't quite as much water running down either of the rivers as there is today.

before the pad got put in we fed out round bale silage and the fendt computers messing around as usual so job left up too old fergie. just had to drive up hill backwards if you wanted to be able to steer. coming down hill real slow if you hit decent bump she'd pull wheelies as well. nearly cleaned up a lot of fences

A drop of petrol, a charged battery and a tow down the drive saw the old fergie burst into life yesterday  I was quite amazed !!

Apart from a stiff throttle rod everything was fine, "looks like the dormobile is going to be thrown out of the garage for a while" said number one son.

You're a bit soft Jerry, there should be a crank handle strapped to the transmission. (or a snake killer as my dad used to call them).

Cheers, Mick.
