Found these yesterday near Mount Warning, The owner is going to call me when he gets back (a week or two).
They were all to be crushed!!
Mainly s1's but a few 2's mainly very rough but complete running gear/engines 'boxes etc All firewalls rotten but many good Chassis, loads of good doors and swb rear tubs
I will try to talk the owner into sorting them out and possibly ebay them for him, there is definatly way too much good stuff to crush.
Owners mum is a nice old bird but wants rid!
Pm me with any interest and I will get more info when contacted by the owner
Dave:)
Also noticed a few of them had the Lucas wiper motors on them (they are rare right?)

Amazing find!
Well done with trying to save what's possible.
I was recently visiting my brother in Tweed Heads and I was surprised by the amount of series Land Rovers on the road- some in amazing original condition too.
Obviously, they were a popular and well used vehicle in the region.

The one on the right seems to have some army features- military guards and extended spring hangers

There are also some soft-top hood sticks that are sought after.

I can't afford one which is a shame because I'd LOVE one.
Glad to see you looking after their best interests though !

Appreciate the excitement, but they are well known, and there is little there restorable.

Both myself and the Ho Hars have vehicles from there.

It is good for searching for Parts though.

I think that the "excitement" value here is that they are destined for the crusher- not that someone has posted about something that is well known to you.

Looking for aluminium radiator support panel or front guards that are straighter than mine for a 54 86 that I am resurrecting. Interested if you Ebay them or need to know general interest.
Thanks Brendan

G,day like what other in the "know" have said not a real lot of good series 1 pannels & bits left there just about all the good stuff has been picked clean to be used restored or for parts. The owner is a lovely chap to chat too :D

I know exactly where you are, when I drove past my eyes almost fell out of my head. I wanted to go say gday but we didn't have the time.

So why are there so many there? What is the story behind the landy nut to collect so many. Surely there is a fine example in the shed with so many parts to choose from.

The S1's were the perfect vehicle for banana farmers, that is where they all came from, bananas are big around here!
The owner has a perfect example in the shed.
The concourse guys won't be interested but there are many good parts still there.
I definatly saw enough bits to make up one complete car! (1 firewall that nedded minimal work for example!)
When the owner contacts me I will post here what is happening, (he and his mum ar not into computers or ebay etc so I may help out.

As Stated,

Warren is a very nice fellow, and the place is well known to those with series. What is left is in very poor shape. What you can't see, is the corrosion on the chassis and housings due to being on banana plantations. All the motors have been stripped out, and there is not much left in restorable vehicles. What was, left several years ago, and the rest was going to the crusher then.

If you have a particular part you want, it is a good place to search for it, but keep in mind it will still need alot of restoring.

Lost count of the times myself and other Series people have been there,

but, hey,

What would I know?

They were all to be crushed!!

If I lived near there I would take the lot. (I have the room, just not the money to pay for their transport.)

The two I picked up recently were going to the tip too!!!

Not a cheap exercise, after you throw in car trailer hire, fuel and new tie downs (if you don't own any). However it is very satisfying to save a bit of history.

I for one wouldn't like it at all if someone would discuss my property in an open forum including publishing the street I live on.
Why not wait till the owner gets back and discuss it with him.

I'm a little confused, the one piece front mudguards didn't come in until very late 1951, about 14 months after the early radiator support panel (headlamps behind grill) changed to the later 7" headlamps through grill design.

Keith Wadsworth makes excellent reproduction panels for the 80", but the volume of 2 one piece mudguards makes for very expensive shipping, unless you can find someone bringing a LCL container from the UK.

Ohh, I was of the belief I should have single piece guards (the top running down to the front) -- so the original style was two piece (top joining front near bend?)

Warren and his mum clearly want rid of the lot...They are lined up on a reasonably busy tourist route, his mum was happy when I said there would probably be lots of interest on the net(she is a landy fanatic and dosen't like the idea of them being crushed)
This thread has snowballed, but as I first said I will talk to the owner asap to help him out.
Besides if any pikeys turn up in the night they will probably get shot by his mum!:)

Digger . I believe you are right. My understanding too is the early ones had the one piece top and front with a bolt on side.
Next was the spot welded guard.
Then the 2 piece top and front with bolt on side was on later models.

I reckon my early description was vague enough that Diana thought I meant sides and top all one piece... thanks though, I was running for photos of HUE166!!
