New seat leather

I was looking at options for fixing my scratched back seat, the previous owner's dog sat there.

Ended up buying new covers for both sides:

These are the vogue version with the piping going all the way around, the HSE piping stops in the middle. I am taking a punt on the underlying foam being the same as my HSE (I know the front seats are different).

There are a few left in a selection of colours. At $120 all up it looks to be a really cheap solution. I wonder what a dealer would charge for these, probably over $1000.

Now I need to decided whether to fit them myself or get a trimmer to do it. Has anyone here done this before?

Great price! Can't comment on if the foam and structure is the same between the HSE and Vogue, but if it is, you can have a go yourself at changing these. It is not a really hard job, done plenty on different cars over the years. Pull the seats out - they are easy to get out, but bloody heavy! Take care removing the clips that hold the old covers on if you need to use them again - not sure on these, but on most others, the covers are held on with metal closing clips - you can reuse them if you want to, but new ones are cheap and available from a hardware shop along with the tool that closes them. Apart form that, you will need some paitence, and a bit of hard work - the covers will fight you getting them back over the foam, but they will eventually go on. Once they are in the right general position, you may need to persuade them into the right final position - an open palm slapping motion will alow you to move the covers into the right position.

Have a go - even if you can't get the new ones on, you won't wreck them trying, and if they defeat you, you can still take them to a trimmers for them to finish.

Well they arrived today and I have installed them. All up a fairly long but satisfying job. Some points for those considering this job:

1. The seats are really heavy, I got the wide one out of the back.
2. The HSE underlying foam cushion is compatible with Vogue leather.
3. I used cable ties, they are used quite often nowadays.
4. The Vogue leather is so much nicer than the HSE "leather" (I think the HSE is leatherette on the back seats)

It took me a whole day but I am really happy with the results.
