Did it split length ways or around the tube? I was thinking I'd have an old bend to get you through the weekend but the turbo I just removed had a cast aluminium bend in that spot.

I recently bought some silicone hoses from this (http://stores.ebay.com.au/YY-Cooling-System-Auto-Parts) eBay store. They seem fine, although I've only had them about two months. Good prices and fast delivery, although you'll probably want it today I guess ;).

And, as with most things in life, there's silicon hose and there's silicon hose.

The good stuff isn't made in the east and it uses more layers of fabric braid than the cheap stuff.

Same thing happened to me in Disco. I gaffer taped it up till I got some replacement hose.

Massey Ferguson makes a spiral steel wire reinforced 90 bend which is a straight replacement (South African and UK models at least) which I used on all my 300Tdi's after the first time they split.

The silicone hose sold by Devon 4x4 comes pretty highly rated...

lengthways on the inside of the bend.........i picked up a new one that cost as much as the three i brought a few years ago

I would have thought that the right angle bend immediately after the turbo would be subjected to quite a bit more heat than the hoses further down the line and that the later ones would therefore last a lot longer.

Or is that just wishful thinking? :)

Very True... Last leg home after a looong journey and it blew through 3 lots of gaffer tape and some "Gun Gum" exhaust tape I got from a servo before I limped home.

Never lost any of the other hoses though, so I would think carrying a spare 90 bend would suffice...
