D2A Central locking...will unlock, wont lock?

Until this week, my door locks have worked fine. This week, I have fitted an electric brake controller, and I have done some work on my sound system. Now, my doors will not lock from the key fob. However, I do not believe I have in any way caused my problem by doing the above work. Could be wrong, but I cant see it.

Symptoms:

From remote key fob - will unlock, wont lock. When pushing lock on key fob, get red led on key. Same result with both keys.

From door - key in door will lock and unlock drivers door, does not do other doors lock or unlock. I cannot remember if this is always the way it has been set up. My nanocom does not have the Valeo BCU unlocked, so I have not been able to check, and assume this also rules out me having changed the settings.

From dash console - lock and unlock works fine.

Fuse 1 in body fuse box is intact.

My deduction - actuator maybe?

If so, any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Not familiar with D2A, did key in door ever unlock all doors? sometimes you have cars set up so that you can unlock just the one door with key for security reasons.

If you are supposed to be able to lock/unlock all doors with key in door then there may be a problem with the master actuator in the drivers door not sending a signal.. if not then seeing as you can lock and unlock all doors from console all your actuators are fine and the only problem is the remote lock signal not getting through - either issue with the fob or maybe the CL/alarm control unit requires certain input triggers to allow remote lock.. i.e door/bonnet open/closed switches faulty?

no faults showing.....will go plug the nanocom in and see if I can interogate the bcu somehow.

From your observations it doesn't sound like the actuator (door latch). I think it's more likley to be the setting on the fob or the fob itself is cactus. If you haven't changed the setting yourself then it's the fob. Pull it apart and have a look.

If it was the actuator you would experience the same problems when using central locking.

Also, look in the D2 section of the forum regarding doors and locks. Plenty of info in there.

My bet is on the micro switch in the keyfob has come loose. Take apart and resoldier the micro switch back on.

I altered the orignal post in response to these two responses.

Same fault with both key fobs, would seem to rule out the fob.

Is there anyway you can alter settings through some pattern of pushing the fob switches? I ask because I have a two yr old who LOVES keys.

do you have electric garage door openers at all if so go near them and see if the doors play up on them once parked near them They wont go up or down til you move away most times. if so then its the key fob transmiter in the roof lining of the roof costs about $100 and have to almost pul lthe lining out to get to the 2 little screws to replace it

The BCU module isn't a separate purchase, so it's probably just a case of the key not being entered. Log into the your account at web.nanocom.it and you'll be able to access the unlock code for the BCU module.

The fact that the console switch works indicates the actuators are working. This might indicate that the door lock motor switch wiring has been interfered with while you've been working on the wiring. Were you running wiring to or fitting door speakers by any chance?

No, I didnt have the door cards off....

But, I had freeway car audio put a roof mounted flip down screen in last week...which would have necessitated lowering the hood lining. Might they have knocked off a cable? (I bloody hope not, I hate that ****ing hood lining)

I replaced the speakers some time ago with good ones, using the original wiring, I didnt ask them to, but maybe they pulled the door cards to replace the wiring...

Yes, already worked this out, but, I am now having lots of dramas getting those license keys into nanocom.....

The nanocom would more than likely help troubleshoot the locking issue, but if you prefer to do it the hard way knock yourself out.
