we are currently in Moora WA and need to replace the mainshaft rear bearing housing, on our series 3 LWB, does anyone know if there are any wreckers/enthusiasts who might be able to help us locate one. It doesn't have to be new.
we will be travelling north in a couple of days towards Geraldton
thanks

Whyatts are in Geraldton and get a good rap from everyone they deal with - 9965 4333. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/western-australia/80442-whyatts-automotive-geraldton.html
They are Land Rover specialists and soon to be authorised service centre, so I'm sure they could help you out. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/wa-aulroians-group/146305-new-authorized-service-regional-wa.html

In Perth there are two wreckers:

Linnrover in Kewdale - 9359 4144

and

West Coast Rover in Kenwick - 9459 6812, these guys also do repairs and know old rovers well.

Westcoast Rovers are your best bet for secondhand Series bits in Perth.
Whyatts in Geraldton(specialist repairers now factory backed) have a VERY good reputation.
See if Whyatts can have the bits waiting for you.
GOODLUCK

I'm not sure exactly what the part is that you described, but I have a donor S2a here that should be the same parts. The gearbox and tansfer box are sitting in my shed and you're welcome to whatever bits you need to get underway again. The only problem is I'm in Wandi, which is 30km south of Perth. Even more unfortunately, I can't really take any time off work to bring it up to you and help out.:(. If I could I most certainly would.

I will be leaving Coogee WA on Thurs morning, 5th April, driving North passing through Geraldton to re-fuel. My car will be pretty well loaded but could bring up a part if its not too big, not dripping in oil and it can be got to me by tomorrow night.

It's over to you then Colin and Rose. Coogee is a stone's throw from me and I probably have the bit you need if you can positively identify it for me. The only catch now is I have a meeting tomorrow night and therefore won't be home from around 7am tomorrow onwards. That means letting me know tonight! ... and maybe we can organise something. (Oftentimes the plans thrown together at the last moment work the best??)

I have the part it my hot little medium sized hands. If Wayne G wants to pick it up or I can hide it in a tree somewhere along the way?

You can call me on 041 032 4679

Cheers,

Andy.
