What to do next ??

Tray is off......
I assume the motor has to come out next before the cab is taken off to get to the rest of the chassis, and then the gearbox ?

Any suggestions ........

Thanks

Are you wrecking it for sales of parts?

Depending on what you are intending to do, at this stage all the body panels can come off, starting withe the roof

As my dad once told me, start at the top and work down !

No. Lot easier to remove all the bodywork, bit by bit, before removing the engine or gearbox. All of the body bits can be handled by one man, although some are easier with two.

I'm not sure which bolts you are turning. The cab is held by long bolts and washers through the hood sockets, and by brackets bolted to the top rail of the bulkhead, and along the top of the windscreen by bolts and brackets in the corners from memory. All of these are bolts and nuts, and you have to hold the other end. All are accessible without removing any panels although some you may have to get at by feel with a socket and extension.

If you don't already have one, the parts book is invaluable for illustrating how things go together. See "shop" at the top of this page for a "rave CD" with this on it.

Hope this helps,

John

What part of the chassis are you getting to? If the whole thing, next remove seatbox, then firewall, then motor/gearbox (together if there is no need to disturb but most would at least check the clutch now) the last is the axles/suspension as rolling chassis are easier to move.

Seatbox is out already, Firewall still needs att and then the rest chassis, motorm gearbox

No one mentioned it, but make sure you store and label everything to make life easier as you go,

And restoring bolts/brackets etc on a lousy day passes time
(look at Dinty's restorations (esp last one) in REMLR Projects..)

Now is the time to consider replacing complete wiring loom (autosparks in UK are well priced but try them all for prices... VINWIRE in Aus also do looms etc as were standard but were unable to match prices (or get close) when I got mine, Try them they may be close now...)

Use the SEARCH function it will bring up heaps of handy hints/info and as stated the RAVE CD from Daves shop will give you repair manual, parts manual, and lots of tips etc as collected over time.

Have fun.

Yeah and further to Digger's labelling, photograph everything that comes out, before you take it out. Makes fitment sooo much easier later.
