Hi all
       My 97 defender due 4 100,000 service , I brought it off car yard.
       Last owner only had service book stamped 2 50,000 service, but no list off any belts or timing chain/gear/belt replacmemt
       What do I need tom make sure every thing is up to date

everything listed for 100000km + timing belt
start with the timing belt if not sure that it was done in the 70000km -80000km period
and having regard to the age of the vehicle......
while you've got the front cover off and the radiator out for the timing belt it's a good time to change the water pump, as well as the "P" gasket behind it. Take the radiator to a specialist and get it cleaned & pressure checked, and when you refit it use new hoses and fan belt,  check the condition of the header tank
check the lift pump and vacuum pump for oil leaks

x2 Look after that 300Tdi and it'll give you many more years service.
