Took Robbie(BBlaze) out to the islands off Albany today.
Nice day,no fish to bring home.
Robbie got 2 Pink Snapper,unfortunately undersize,I got a Blackarse(Breaksea Cod),also undersize.
I was a touch crook to start with, dont usually get seasick, blaming it on Tasmanian Beer with a Monkey Blood chaser last nite.

Went out yesterday.
Was pretty rough and windy.
Found a sheltered spot in the harbour.
HEAPS of undersize Skippy, kept 8 Yellowtail and 6 Herring for bait.
Was taking Graz out to the reef in the morning but he is running late and wont be down tonite.
I have a dinner order to fill for tommorow nite,a whole fish cooked on the BBQ,its Debs Birthday,so I hope the fish god smiles upon us tommorow.

Took Deb,Lindsay and Taylah out today.
Was windy so I tried Emu Point for a change, found a sheltered bay between Emu Point and Ledge Beach.
Not a huge amount of fish caught.
The crew caught me more bait(yellowtail).I got a small feed.2x34cm King George Whiting,a Flathead and a Flounder around the same size.
Got busted off by what I believe was a Ray.
Leaving the Land Lubbers home tommorow(those whom dont like travelling far from the coast).Weather is looking good, taking Graz and maybe Lindsay out for some deep sea/reef fishing.

Andy,
How deep is it where you have been getting out to? You don't normally catch yakkas (yellowtail scad, bait fish) in very deep water, normally caught them on a bait jig off a wharf of in a shallow rocky bay probably no more than 5m.
What are you using for tackle? sinker size? line weight?

The yellowtail and small skippy are thick all around Albany at the moment. We have been catching them whilst targeting King George Whiting in sheltered waters whilst its been too rough to get out to the Reef/Islands.5m to 12m,8lb braid, running sinker.
Got out to the Islands and Reef with Graz today, unfortunately nothing biting out there except the occasional Wrasse.
Weather permitting Graz is wanting to head out again in the morning.
Had a problem at the ramp this morning.Lowered the outboard,2 cranks and all the electrics stopped working. The isolator switch was knackered.Bought a new one from the Chandelry shop there, luckily the owner was there working so we didnt have to wait until 8.30am.Once fitted all was good.
A planned winter job was to replace the isolator swich with a Cole Hersey switch and wire the second battery in.At the moment its just there as an emergency battery and I need to swap the leads across.
I think I will be doing the job soon now;);););) Was greatfull it didnt happen at sea,it got pretty rough mid morning then settled out by lunchtime.
Graz was realy impressed with how well the boat handles rough weather for its size.
