Hey All, when the disco does the start up light check etc my TC light doesn't light up at all, havnt had the TC come on when offroad or does it take a fair bit of slippage before it kicks in?, or does this mean TC not working. ABS and HD all works fine
cheers

Likely an instrument pack issue, the lights do fail at times, and IIRC cant be replaced.

and that depends whether JC had his nap today,,;):p
If you can still feel the ABS unit pulsing then theres not much wrong

The lights are surface mount LEDs so should be repairable if it is the LED at fault. The issue would be finding someone to do the work if you don't have the gear/skills to do the job.

I began to investigate repairing one at one point, but it looked like you would have to break open the unit to get at the leds so I passed on it. Did you have any success?

I haven't done one, but came across a guy in the UK selling new UK spec instrument panel boards as a repair item. I might be making a leap of faith but I'm assuming if the board can be replaced, it should be possible to remove the existing one to fix.
I've been planning to take a look at replacing the red diff lock led with orange to get the d2a behavior on my D2. I'll report back if I have any luck.

if the ABS and HDC lights work, then it "may" be a diagnostic issue ref the TC.
If you have played in the BCU with Nanocom at some point, it is quite likely the TC has been set to not-fitted at some point, this can happen anytime when making any changes in the BCU.
If you have a Nanocom or access to one, well worth checking it is set correctly before pulling things apart.

For reference this is a shot of the D2 Instrument panel circuit board. You can see that the "lamps" for the dash warning lights are SMD LED's.
Stripping the cluster to this point is likely to be a fairly delicate task as it requires removing the faceplate. This entails removing the needles from the tacho and speedo, which I'm a bit hesitant to undertake on a good cluster. From what I've read the needles unscrew in an anti-clockwise direction.

Most of the times it's BCU settings get somehow "disturbed".
When i switced from sls to coils and then back to sls,i also "lost" TC dashboard light although i didn't change such a setting.
Last week i was looking a friends Disco 2 with a nanocom.
The interior lights were going off at 15 seconds after i opened a door, not 10 minutes after as rave states, after much searching i found out tha BCU was set at transit mode .
I know this Disco for 2 years and all we've done was to set the sls heights and clear some sls faults sometime last year,so from times to times the BCU settings need some "attention"
Cheers.
