whats with this guy? he already has yet to face court on a previous assault charge. why is he given this poor unfortunate image? I'm sure if his name wasn't Newton he'd be in gaol with his history.

The bloke does have mental problems ... some people have a genetic predisposition to certain mental frailties, which can be triggered by certain types of drug use. Newton may well have be fine for most of his life but when he began to party hard on particular substances this may well have lead to a tipping point in his mental processes - the mary jane and LSD are well known for tipping people with a predisposition towards Schizophrenia.

I feel sorry for the bloke ... I doubt he is the full tin of bickies these days.

Having had personal experience with Newton many years ago I can assure you he has been a total ******* most of his life. IMO he's not mental, just an obnoxious *****.

Don't doubt that mate, but give some thought to people who's outward behaviours are actually masking much deeper problems. I used to work with a girl who was major ADD - I thought she was a complete bitch, but then I got to understand WHY she was acting that way and there was much more to it than just a poor disposition toward her fellow man.

All I am saying is that sometimes people with certain mental issues act out in a manner unacceptable to a normal person and we put it down to general bad manners. For some people, this is part of a mental illness over which they have little control. I am not excusing his behaviour by any means, but if there is mental illness there, and many say there is, then the bloke is likely in a very lonely place indeed and needs help.

Mathew Newton is the son of Australian TV entertainers Bert and Patty Newton,they are/were TV identities in the 60's70's and 80's
