My condolences also.
I only met Ray fairly recently and immediately liked the fellow.
A great loss to the Landrover community as well.

Indeed a sad day.:( I only got to know Ray fairly recently and his wealth of knowledge will be sadly missed. He was always willing to have a chat about all things LR, and when talking about Classic Rangies, he got very enthusiastic - my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Oh, very sad news. I didn't know Ray amazingly well but popped in every now and then, in fact only saw him a couple of weeks ago. He was a great guy, very helpful and friendly.

Hi all
I went and saw Lyn, Ray's wife (now widow) last night, Ray's funeral is in Romsey on Monday at 2pm
Lyn has requested as many Landrovers as possible form an honour guard / park in the Main Street of Romsey for the funeral
So if anyone’s in the neighbourhood please join in

Thanks

Thank you all for your wonderful words about my wonderful Father.

The Funeral will be held on Monday at 2pm at St Pauls Church in Romsey Victoria.

Dad will be leaving from our family home 2 doors down from the Police Station with a precession of Land Rovers following him.

Dad will be sadly missed.

Daniel and James will be there to continue Dad's great work.

Mum and I would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Peter Maccallum cancer hospital.

I just heard the sad news.
Sincere condolences to Lyn and family.
I got to meet Ray many times over the years & found him to be a top bloke.
I won't forget all the great 4wd stories and how he hung it on toyotas & nissans.
He was a true Landrover lover.

I once bought him a slab of crownies for fixing my car 2 days before xmas break.
They were still sitting there 3 months later.
I asked why he hadn't drunk them & he said. " I don't drink that crap. Give me a scotch."

Chin up Daniel & keep looking after the landies that Ray loved.

Condolences to Ray's family.

I never met Ray in person, but had a long phone conversation with him last year when looking to buy my Disco. Ray had been maintaining it for the previous owner. He was very helpful and took the time (when he didn't know me from a bar of soap) to explain to me what had been done to the car. A genuine bloke.

Thankyou to however moved the above post, I wasn't aware a thread was already up.

I remember ringing Ron in fits of rage as my newly aquired eas classic logged a hard fault the day before our wedding. His schedule was full, however we got it down there, and he worked on it till 10.30 that night, so one of my groomsmen could pick up the early the next day. It arrived 45 minutes before the ceremony, and we drove it to Qld the next day.

I only wish we could make it down today. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

And you didn't take this as a sign? :o

(Should that be Ron or Ray?)
