How have people threaded cable from the roofrack (solar panel or exterior rear light) into the rear cabin to rar battery in the rh bin?

how water proof is it? And dust proof?

Hi, I use cable glands - no water or dust, quick and easy, will try to attach photo but I'm computer impaired...... have used for work light and solar panel on roof.

Ok, I see cable glands is the term. Thanks for your pics. A quick question though, if you have the roofrack off (ie no cable running inside) do you need to plug the hole? It's a bit hard to see from the pics of the units on the web.

It.s going to take some courage to drill into the body.... :)

I dont have any cables running on or through the roof rack, but if you do you can loosen the cable gland, pull the cable out and then tighten it with no cable running through. It's a Landy, drill the holes!! Once you start its easy.....

My Disco 2 has machined plugs that scew in where the original roofracks used to go. The previous owner did gthis mod and he ran wires up through one of these near the drivers side. There is photos of it in the roofrack thread.http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-2/67723-show-us-ya-roof-racks-d2-9.html
