Does any one know if they fit?
Putting new paint on the old girl and wondering if it's possible to
Change the lights.
Post update 1995 V8.
Also having a s/steel grill made up if that helps.
Cheers,
Sean.

It looks pretty in depth, I'll print it out at work tomorrow and decide whether or not to do it. The Disco's sitting out front almost ready to trailer into town to begin the paint job. Stripped inside and out.
Rangie seats, all new linings and carpets to come.
When I find my camera again, I'll post a thread on the rebuild.

Haven't got the price back yet. When I do I 'll let you know. I'm also going to take the rear internal trims to an aluminum guy and have them copied in checker plate.

Why does it show a D2 then and at the top of every page it says discovery 3 lights and either back or front ?

It can be done with a D2 as well as an update D1 95 on and the replacement lights are D2a head lights, it was a a web site from the UK. look up Google images for a d3 headlight and then a D2a you will see the difference.

I am going to, I just have to find the lights and grill.
There is nothing in Tassie that I can find so I will look on the mainland now.

Well it's official, I just purchased the lights from ebay, $290 for the pair, delivered. He has another pair for sale if anyone else is interested.
D3 lights into the D1 sounds like a good challenge for me.:D

It's actually for fitting D2a headlights into a D2. :) (Not sure if D2 and D1 are different headlight assemblies/mountings.)

G'day, I recently needed to replace a stone chipped head light in one of my Discos. Couldn't find a 2nd handy for love or money, and local suppliers wanted $140 for a new one. Found some OEM D2 lights in the U.K. for $125 the pair! They landed soon after and were a straight swap into the D1.Then I added an HID loom and bulbs (shh!). Look quite sinister I think, all up a very worthy upgrade.

No, it's the D2a into the D2.
The D2 and D2a have the same profile indicators meaning a swap is "easy"!! A D1 has a different profile indicator meaning the wing needs altering - just haven't found out how to do that bit yet!
It can be done though. The Disco isn't mine so I can't answer questions :(

You may have to use the front guards from a D2 as well then?

Well, the D3 lights arrived today. Looks like quite a job getting these in. Initial thoughts! Major reconstruction to the radiator support in the light area. Move both batteries to the rear of the vehicle. Some careful chopping of the bonnet, and a rethink of the grill and bumper.

So was it determined what the PDF covers?
Is it for D2a headlights into D2 or into D1 ?
Also the PDF seems incomplete on the rear light conversion.
