Diesel Engine Kits - Diesel LPG - Eco-Gas - Diesel Gas (http://www.eco-gas.com.au/)

Anyone tried this on a Td5?

Last time I talked to this lot they didn't have emissions certification on their units which could lead to trouble with some registration authorities, particularly for 2002-on vehicles.

How many do have compliance? Diesel Gas Technologies here in Sydney tell me they have.

There's quite a few, eco-shot have a fair few tested (but no TD5's on their website), Diesel Gas Aust have a TD5 on their website (but won't sell me their kits, they're a franchise), my local wholesaler recently showed me his new kit but I haven't been asked for diesel-gas for a while so I haven't checked if they have certification.

Has anyone fitted lpg to Td5 and if so how have you found it?

Its good.

I dont know if its worth it.

It extends the range a little. but if you use the gas on all the time it will chew a tank of gas before you get through the tank of diesel. I'm sure it could be turned down but then it wouldnt be worth having

When your towing say on a hill, if you press the gas on you can feel the revs pick up and it moves faster forward, like say adding a little bit of torque.

So when building the ultimate with everything TD5 yeh sure its worth it.

But if your chasing more power, id add a VNT turbo from bell auto in the UK. A lot cheaper than gas conversion, and you will get more power and driveability. And you dont have the on going cost of putting lpg in it, lpg is almost at $1/L some times.
