Bit of a problem with inputting the security code of the puma. Book says enter the code using the 1 to 4 reset buttons then press the RND button to complete the entry. The trouble is when you enter the code via the preset buttons, the RND button also enters the third digit, as well as the button one would push (according to the book) to complete the entry. But when I push the RND button , instead of completing the sequence it will change the third entry. Rang the dealer who said drop it in . I said "no thanks not a 400 k drive" is anyone there to talk me through it. Well read the book I was told so we did it over the phone and no worky. Then hold for several minutes then told don't do as book says.
After loading the 4 digits push the mode button (AM/FM) so did that and still no work. They then told me they didn't know and would get back to me. Well like the EKA code still waiting.
Can anybody with a similar model tell me if theirs works so I can see if my radio is faulty. It did come with the radio working with the Melb /Geelong frequencies working.
Thanks Lindsay

Thanks Chops it worked. Wouldn't you think that they could get a radio book right.

There are several different radios fitted to Defenders, world wide. Chops suggestion is the same as for my radio (in a 2010 Defender) and as far as I am aware the radios supplied with Australian vehicles hasn't changed over the past 2 or 3 years. Check that you have the correct booklet and if the one you have provides details for more than one radio model. I have in the past blindly followed the reset instructions for the radio in my old Disco II only to find I was following the instructions for the wrong radio in the booklet.

PS Make sure you set the area code in the radio to ASI (or something similar) as this markedly improves their performance. The dealer should have done this but they usually don't.
