Hi all,

Am looking for some good links to UK parts sites as wondering if they would work out better value?

e.g. I'm after some mud flaps front and rear. (actaully does anyone know if they are the same for D3 & D4 as I can find a few that stock D3 stuff but not much D4?)

cheers,

Have a look at these guys Ozzy:

:: Duckworth Land Rover Discovery 4 Accessories (http://www.duckworthparts.co.uk/landrover/accessories_dis4.html)

They seem to be pretty well priced on D4 accessories.

The other is Nick at Yeovil Land Rover, he's the parts manager. Go onto DISCO3.CO.UK - Index (http://www.disco3.co.uk) and search for The Large One.

Don't think the D4/D3 mudflaps are the same.

I need some bigger one's,saw on the Disco3 UK site something about series one's'that will fit d3 & D4.

I looked at the duckworth stuff, but after adding freight, not much of a saving against local prices.

You need to get a decent order together to make it worthwhile. ;)

Ozzie, I bought genuine LR flaps from Duckworth UK, but was part of a large order of other gear, and therefore worthwhile.
I would however, advise against their use, as I suffered gravel damage when I first used them.
The rear wheel flares have been 'Pebble Dashed' from the front wheel throwback, and my caravan, and rear window on the D4 has also been 'dinged' because the rear flaps are exceptionally short. Also, my fault, as I hadn't adjusted the caravan Stone Guard, from Landcrusier setting, to D4 when I upgraded tow truck.
I would frankly, make up flaps, using 6mm reinforced rubber from 'Clarks Rubber', and shape to you liking, keeping them longer than normal till you are sure of the length you finally want.
Search for 'Mud Flaps and Rock Sliders' should bring up other Guys ways of doing it.
Hope this helps, trying to save you $$$$$$$$$.
Cheers, Don.

Correct. I was supplied D3 mudflaps/spats initially, and they are a different profile. I agree that they are not very durable, and I remove mine for offroad work. They do look better than strips of rubber though, even though they are way overpriced. Not as bad as the LR genuine floor mats though. An absolute ripoff. Poorly made. A terrible fit, particularly the rear mats. A generic mat with an alloy LR plate. You are better off at Supercheap.

Obviously mud flaps totally depends on your application as to what is best so I'm not contradicting Bun 'n' Ben but if you want the factory look mud flaps you can get these off eBay. I've got a set of these and they fit and look just like factory. Only thing is it says Land Rovef not Land Rover on the oval. Youd never notice though. I looked at getting from the UK as well and quite a few of the parts places I emailed sold non genuine mud flaps when I asked why they said identical and much much cheaper so before paying more than eBay make sure of what you are buying.

2010 2011 Set of 4 Mud Flaps Splash Guard For Land Rover Discovery 4 New | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2010-2011-Set-4-Mud-Flaps-Splash-Guard-Land-Rover-Discovery-4-New-/300616165309?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45fe1ea7bd#ht_4094wt_1040)

Thanks for all replies.

In the end I went with dealer sourced as I have found they were very dependant on the VIN. Not just as simple as saying for a D4. Apparently landrover like to make slight changes to yearly models which significantly hinders the after market accessories' ability to keep up. I learnt the rear D4 mud flaps aren't all the same. The first batch they gave me didn't fit. Matching the VIN showed a different part code, so I guessed that many internet purchases could easily get this wrong.
