Missing Hose?

I have recently purchased a Freelander, MY2000 V6 auto. On cleaning the engine bay I noticed a small angled pipe which appears to come from the top of the gearbox. There is no flexible hose connected to it, even though it looks as it should have one. Can someone advise what this/where the pipe goes to/from?. Thanks in advance.

Is it at the right hand side at the back of the engine?
If it is, it is the breather pipe for the IRD. it runs from the IRD to nowhere
