Hello Guys

I have a V6 petrol D3, a couple of months back the dreaded orange air suspension indicator light came along with the warning on the screen.
I switched the car off and started it after 30 seconds and it reset and it was fine again. I had not seen it since then unitil it pop up 6 times in the last 2 days.
I have investigated this a bit and found somebody posted the following elsewhere:

One of the mechanics said he had seen this before and recalibrated the steering angle and this fixed the problem.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Best regards Michael

Yes, if the steering is out enough you can get an alarm and the car will go into limp mode and drop down. Not an EAS alarm as such.

Happened to me in my old V6 SE after a wheel alignment when the mech left something undone.

It could also be the compressor being slow to bring the air suspension up to pressure. Before you replace it have a read here (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/115167-d3-air-suspension-compressor-failure.html)and check the valve.

Pics seem to have been dissappeared by photobucket but here a couple of the valve

I also had the steering angle problem after a nasty bump on Fraser Island knocked the alignment out.

In my case I could see the steering wheel was't level when travel dead ahead. A Wheel Alignment sorted it.

If you can get the error codes read it will say something about implausible steering angle.

My suspension fault light started coming on recently, when I cleared the faults with the Hawkeye one came up with faulty brake light switch or similar. As I was in a hurry I didn't read it properly.

I'll check it properly next time it comes on.Mind you on the same day it started I hit a very big pothole at speed so maybe that could be it to.

cheers,
Terry

Same type of thing happened on my MY10 D4 3.0SE, usually in the cold mornings on the run through the local streets with lots of "traffic calming" devices.

When I brought this up during the last service at the dealer's, they said it was to do with some brake sensor as well, and replace under warranty. Hasn't happened since that time.
