Qld Volunteer Wanted - MY12 D4 with HK audio but no nav or camera

Anyone with a new D4 near Everton Park Qld interested in being a crash test dummy for a nav/camera upgrade?

There is a current thread running for D4 owners wanting to upgrade their vehicle to add nav and camera (or even external interface for OziExplorer etc.) http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/145450-upgrade-d3-d4-nav-concerns.html

A company Advanced ICE in Everton Park Qld (http://www.advancedice.com.au/Contact) has a module that may work on the MY12 model, but they haven't yet had one to investigate. I'm in Sydney and would almost be prepared to drive up but it makes for a very expensive upgrade.

But unfortunately we have not seen a car yet that we can test our products on. We have a product that will hopefully give navigation and reverse camera input to the screen, but we are just waiting for a car that we can test on.

Hmmm,sounds interesting,mine is MY12 D4 2.7,no nav,just small screen with radio stuff on it,maybe different from 3.0l spec?
Wouldn't mind a good nav,maybe instead of getting the new hemma 6 that i am waiting for.

Nothing has happened, but my dealer also suggests if I do something like this it will void the warranty on my electronics package. :BigCry:

I'm looking to upgrade the nav in my wifes D3 as the whereis mapping is garbage compared to the Navteq I run on my clarion headunit in my patrol.

I'm looking to upgrade the nav in my wifes D3 as the whereis mapping is garbage compared to the Navteq I run on my clarion headunit in my patrol.The Advanced ICE system is essentially an additional input for AV camera etc, so hopefully you could input external GPS.

It's so sad. yesterday I was looking at systems for my Defender and for $400 I can get a DVD/CD/FM-AM Stereo/TV/bluetooth (phone and audio)/Reversing camera/turn by turn GPS with OziExplorer and a full set of topo maps. The HiICE in my D4 cost more than double than this and has neither the camera, TV, DVD, or nav. Even if I went the extra $1,700 for the Rev camera and Nav I still wouldn't have OziExplorer of the DVD/TV. :mad:
