Not sure if this belongs here - but will be told if not! It is the second part of a question from another unrelated post.

I'm also upgrading my auto trans cooler (basically an electric shrouded fan and over-ride switch with lots of fitting labour through Automatic Transmissions R Us in Balcatta) plus one of the deeper finned sumps.

I'm questioning whether I should also put in a new radiator whilst I'm at it with everything exposed and accessible - and if so which - OEM or alloy? Current one has done 150 K of mainly highway/country road running.

I have seen various comments in other threads and would very much appreciate informed comments from the wise here, including any recommended brand/s!

They do have a reputation for starting to leak after 7-8 years. If you're happy to buy a new one and stick it in as a preventative measure then I'd say go for it. I replaced mine with a britpart rad last year, looked like an oem rad and I'd have to wait a few years to comment on its longevity. The job took me 3 hours all in but if you're already in there then it would be a lot quicker on top of what you're doing already.
