Rusty hubs

Sunny mornings when I walk out to my car one thing that I always notice is the rusty hubs through the wheel openings, has anyone ever painted these and if so does it last?

Can you see the hubs or the discs? Paint will last mere metres on discs! Should last longer on the hubs themselves, provided it is a high temp paint.

Standard 2002 D2 Wheels can see through to the Hubs... was thinking about a rust converter then black high temp paint..... the other alternative is expensive terrafirma rims that are almost closed....
