Watched top gear Australia today. They tested a ford diesel, against a hybrid and a 6litre Holden and then switched to an electric car as the e85 Holden was unable to be filled up due to lack of availability.
Steve Pizzati stated that diesels are extremely bad for the environment. Now this guy has been known to comment on things in the past that he has no authority or understanding of.....I reckon he is doing it again? Diesel has 80 % less sulphur than unleaded, and even less than LPG. I have read that modern diesels with adblue or particulate filters actually emit exhaust that is cleaner than when it went into the engine. I know there are some gasses that still come out bad, but i think the modern ones are cleaner....and maybe even cleaner than modern petrol engines.

Personal I think that is crap and I shall tell you why

In the uk your are taxed personally on company cars, heavy taxed. This amount is set on the price of the car but is reduced if the car has a low emmisons
Pretty much all company cars in the uk are Diesel for this reason. Because they have a lot lower CO2 exhaust emissions and better for the environment than petrol
