D1 D2 difference

Hi guys
I have a 2002 model SE, looking at putting an ARB bar on it.
Got sent some pictures from TRS down in SA
Only issue is, they don't specify if its a D2 of D1 that this bar is on.
Any way to tell purely from looking at the front if its a D2 or D1?

if they sent you pics why not email them and ask them what it's off, then you'll know for sure 100%

Simplest way is the lights a D2 has a black surround (the bit inside the square light, but around the round reflector, have a look at your car and it will show it), a D1 has the whole light covered in a silvery reflector thingo. The grill on a D2 is different, whewre the edge is painted also runs up past the headlights, whereas on a D1 it is black and only the bottom is painted, the blinkers on a D2 are also bigger. LOL we have 4 Discovery at home right now, dads work car is a D4, 2 series 2's and my D1, any other questions juts shoot, there is an ARB on one of the D2's if you want me to have a look.

disco 2 have a bit of colour coded plastic between the headlight and the grill.
disco 2 (post 02? or D2a) have the funky twin light headlight.

Disco 1 (post 94 or update) goes straight from the headlight to grill.
Early Disco 1 has a different shape headlight and different grill

Turned out i picked it by checking the door handles juuuuuuust visible on the side :D
