Is this a news beat up on a slow news day or is there something more?
Jobs in Perth being advertised with no Irish. Also that pubs and entertainment venues are also operating no Irish rules. Some even nameing places in Ireland saying no one from there is welcome.

In my parent's and grandparent's times, Irish Catholics, Chinese, and aboriginals were the lowest strata of society. Perhaps Western Australia is reverting to the culture of those times.
I believe there are still gentlemen's clubs where membership is not available (unwritten) to blacks, jews, and catholics.

G'day 3toes, just a news beat up.The job ad in question was an ad for bricklayers .Employer was obviously sick of all the irish turning up saying they are brickies, with experience etc. From my time as a brickie in london few years back, you guys call them 'chancers'.Was amazed while i was there the number of older guys trying to pass themselves off as brickies.A situation i've never seen here in australia. So to avoid the racism tag ,they now just advertise 5 years WA experience. Not aware of the pub stories so can't help you out there. cheers mark:)
