I saw that quite a lot on a recent holiday in South Africa. Legal there apparently.

Maybe it should be legal if you hold a Multi Combination truck licence. haha

Apparently legal in the USA. I saw motorhomes towing cars towing boats.

Used to be legal (or at least not uncommon) in Aus too. Isn't that why Army trailers often had a pintle on the rear?

there are some places and circumstances that that is actually legal....
Pretty sure none of them are public roads however.

Quote.
"Police easily spotted this dangerous infringement, and fined him $160."
Dunno how this was 'easily spotted' when the plods couldn't even tell the driver was a sheila, and booked some poor bloke instead!:o
Perhaps they were using Rons (ex)seeing eye dog ?:)

You used to see it in SA, works truck towing the lunch room caravan, genny/dunny/cement mixer behind that. Truck had to be over a certain weight I believe.
I found this pic for Ron::p

I have often wondered why this can't be done.if the setup is properly engineered used outside the populated areas and the driver is suitably licenced ie road train etc.can't see the problem.:D

There is an exemption for citrus trailers in certain areas of SA, can tow 2 trailers but must stay below 25km/hr to and from and certain other conditions.

i have a MC license and i am on Facebook as well and saw this with lots of interest as i have been wondering what it would take to be able to do it....legally of course:D
there are times i want to take the camper AND the box trailer somewhere but only have 1 driver in the family and currently 1 towbar between 3 cars:o
on another note for classic cars QLD has knocked back an idea in which owner with only 1 driver available and multiple classic registered cars could use a trade type number plate....thats a bugger for me as well

oh forgot to add that it would be a bugger to back but i would have a go after backing dog trailers for several years ;):D:o

IIRC The last peg in the general legality of doing that cam at the same time they changed the rules for HC on body and dog trialer combos (ie not semis) to stipulate that the truck had to outweigh the trailer
When I picked up my mil 110 ticket we could tow 2 almost fully loaded 1/2 tons at reduced speed but almost never did. A couple of years later that was bought to a halt.
My record for trailers behind a 110 is something like 20 (one end of an airfield to the other at about 10KPH) but the tail light fuses go after 9 from memory.
