Hi everyone,

I am in the process of planning my wedding and just wondered if anyone knows of someone who provides their series landrover/s for use as wedding cars in Brisbane. Have searched here and online and have come up with nothing. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

Your best bet would be to contact your local land rover club.

My dad used his SWB SIIa at his wedding to my mum.

Hmmmmm ........... heard a rumour that there might be a wedding coming up in the not too distant future in the Mildura area where Series LR's might feature in the wedding entourage ...........

Mmmm....we used our 1967 S2a for our wedding and the seating configuration was....'pack em in':

It was a success. Got us there and back and, the marriage and the car are still going strong. What more could you ask for?

'Masqld'...All the best for you and yours .

We are looking at the Thursday before the Queen's birthday weekend in October, one possibly two cars required (small entourage) and would be happy to drive :D or if the owner/s prefer we would hire their time as well. Rear seats would be required if owner is driving. Thanks for the replies.

I looked into this - both for my high school formal (many years ago now!) and (much) later for our wedding (also many years ago now).

Formal:
I initially contacted LROCB (wasn't a member then), who said, "most of our members vehicles are used offroad or being restored so I am not sure if we would have anything suitable". I then contacted the rover car club, who were very helpful. The first options were rules out as they had historic rego, and there was no way that my "event" could be classified as a club trip, etc... Eventually an 86" S1 was found with full rego.

Thanks again Wayne Tupicoff! (if memory serves...)

Wedding,
Chris, an LROCB member and friend had finished retoring his 1953 80" S1, and kindly brought it into service as a wedding car, as well as acting as chauffer and photographer. Thanks again Chris!!!

EDIT - here is a pic of Chris's excellent 80".

(note that "real" series landies don't have rear seating ;) )

Well that narrows it down considerably, as posted, series vehicles are generally 3 seat vehicles:)

That is true, However.......one can fit lots of lovely nubile bridesmaids into a Military 109 GS.

Masqld I would just ask on here, It may be that people cannot hire them out due to insurance risk etc but nothing stopping them from loaning them and afterwards when they go to drive off home a carton or two appears in the rear tray;)

Again, thanks for the replies, I think I will put it on here once I have fixed dates and requirements to see if anyone would be generous enough to let us use their pride and joy. Like I mentioned, I would be willing to pay costs and or incentives :)

A little more info (when you get it) would be nice, but you still have me interested :)
