Altering the door unlock settings of D2?

A bloke at work has an early D2. With his when you unlock the car, it only unlocks the drivers door, you've got to press a second time for all doors. I seem to remember he also told me that when he drives it locks the doors on him.

My D2a is different, one press of the button all doors unlock and stay unlocked.

Are these settings changable? If so, via the Nanocom Evo or?

As above though IMO It's easiest to do it with the Nanocom linked into laptop, in the BCU settings.The laptop let's you see the whole BCU settings page rather than line by line info.

That works ok if you run a Nanocom One, but the Evo doesn't talk to the Nanocom One interface software. The Evo has a similar layout to the pc software but spreads the setting over several screens.

This is a personal security feature, which enables the driver's door only to be unlocked, leaving the other doors in a locked state. It can be operated by the remote handset as follows:
• press the unlock button once to unlock the driver's door.
• press a second time (within one minute) to unlock the remaining doors.

Speed-related locking*
This security feature locks all the doors automatically when the vehicle speed exceeds 7 km/h, and unlocks the doors as soon as the starter switch is turned off (provided the doors had previously been locked by the speed related feature).

Note speed-related locking is not selectable by the driver, and that operation of the door locks by any other means (interior locking switch on the fascia panel, for example) will disable the speed-related locking function for the remainder of the journey, or until the starter switch is turned off and on again.
You can alter these settings in the BCU module.

It sounds like your friend has "single point entry" mode enabled, which is standard I think. It is a simple enable/disable setting. The advertised advantage is that you can enter the vehicle in dodgy neighbourhoods without opening all doors. The other function that is active is "speed locking".

The Nanocom documentation refers the user to the above information so you have to do a bit of translation from manual terminology to Nanocomese.

FWIW I've taken a few screen shots of the procedure.

The settings are accessed in the BCU module under the TRANSM-LOCK-WARN Button. Ignition needs to switch to "II", without the engine running.

It's worthwhile saving a copy of the existing settings so you can restore if you mess anything up. Use the disc icon to save and the folder icon to load saved settings.

The lock settings are on the 2nd or 3rd screen. There are 4 options for super lock and 2 each for SPE and speed locking. The green circular arrow icon cycles through the available options.

When you are done click the red X icon to get back to the main BCU module page and click "write settings".

Thanks. I tried downloading the Nanocom instruction manual PDF on it today, but it just opens as jiberish - instead of letters there are squares. Would be nice to have a description of all the options as some of them are very obvious, but some arn't so.

The pdfs should be ok in Acrobat Reader. The character set used doesn't work with Apple Preview for some reason. Not sure if that is what you are trying to open them with?
