Hi,
This is my first posting here although I've been a reader for a few years -so thanks for all the useful info I've accessed.
Anyway, my Defender 110 had its first annual service at the local dealer a couple of weeks ago and they found an oil weep on the rear diff - not uncommon from what I read here. Anyway they are waiting for approval from Landrover before doing the work under warranty, the dealer says that they have sent photos etc., so how long does it generally take for Landrover to respond to these requests?
Cheers.

Any warranty problems I have had, have been fixed immediately. I do go to a Landrover dealer though.

I had no waiting time at all.. I called (for a leaking rear pinion seal - which showed oil on the rear diff) and they said bring it in.. they fixed it on the spot. Sadly though they have had to fix twice more since then as it continued to leak until they replaced the flange (which had to be ordered from the UK) and I've had no more problems since.. but all three times there has been no waiting once I've called and told them about it.. (except for waiting for the flange to arrive - about 2 weeks).. :)

Thanks, I wonder why some dealers ask for approval but others just seem to go ahead and do the repair. The landRover website states:
"In the vast majority of cases the Land Rover dealer/Authorised Repairer will be able to carry out the repair immediately. However, you should note that occasionally the nature of the repair may require the Land Rover dealer/Authorised Repairer to obtain authority from Land Rover before proceeding."
Anyone know what criteria LandRover use for requiring approval?

In the meantime I'll keep onto the Dealer.

Thanks

I had a windscreen corrosian spot that took Land Rover three weeks to authorise, I emailed them and got the typical, "we are looking into your claim" reply, on all other occasions though no problems.
