I have a Disco. 2 with a ARB bull bar on which ZI want to mount a tow ball, so that I can manoeuvre my off-road camper-van into a tight parking space. Has anyone mounted a tow ball on these bull bars, and if so, any help would be welcomer, particulalrly if there are also picture of where and how mounted.
Cheers

Mount it left of centre so you can see down the side of the van. If you mount it centrally all you will see is the back of the van. In line with the LH chassis rail is good.

Recently I saw a tow ball mounted on the front of a Jeep. He had the tow ball mounted off centre so he could look down the side of the campervan as he was pushing/ manoeuvring it into place.

Seeing the front of the van would be nicer... :p:p:p

mount it to the left as already stated, but make it removable (because they are shin/knee killers) and preferably the same design as the rear one so you only have to carry one tongue insert.

Plus, if you ever want to fit a central front winch you won't have to relocate - although I think I saw somewhere a central tow hitch receiver, with a winch assembly fitted above???

Have solved front mounted tow bar problem: Roverland at Boronia fabricated a setup for me that is mounted within the (unused - at this time) winch opening in my ARB bull bar. Used existing holes and is set back far enough that it does not protrude in front of bull bar, so I therefore do not have to keep taking off - puttuing on.

Just bolt something like this straight onto the front of the bar.

On my first landrover (S3 109 ute) I fitted a front towball using a bit of 100x100x6 angle iron as a bracket with 4 3/8" bolts holding it to the front of the bullbar & the towball bolted thru the horizontal section of the angle.
Towing a trailer all the time for my business I've gotten pretty good at reversing the trailer:p so I haven't bothered fitting one to my last 3 (S3 88" wagon, Defender 110 wagon, Disco 2 TD5) but early on it was really handy for putting mums horse-float in the shed:D
Cheap & easy, just don't use it as a recovery point

One on each side to balance things up and attach recovery bridle to.
