Cape fraser Island trip

Hello,
Just this minute got back from Fraser Island's cape, great trip other than a couple of issues, going across Ngkala rocks and some of the sand tracks I encountered a very bad metallic click under articulation, not sure what this is, I've replaced the bushes on the radius arms not long ago and after that there was a similar click that turned out to be one of the bolts wasn't tight enough, trying to track that down i thought it could be a bush? is this a likely cause, or what?? the click (fairly loud) is coming from the passenger side front suspension (the bolt that caused the click before is tight as!)

Any help or experience of this with anyone else??

It's not just the coils compressing and expanding is it, they can make a lot of noise depending on if your loaded or unloaded? Seized shock absorber or shocky bush?

If you have short stiff springs, they will not bend with the bottom mount ( as the axle drops asymmetrically) and pop out of the mount when the axle is at maximum droop.
They then pop back in as the axle comes back up.
Maybe that ?

If you've had it appart recently i would check everything is tight, i have had this a few times when i havnt torqued up the radius arm bolts enough, also could be your panhard rod or shock mounts, get under it and get some one to rock it for you and look for play and have a listen.

not had chance to look under but will this weekend if nothing obvious i'll start taking things apart, thanks for advise, just don't understand if its the spring dislodging then why doesn't it make any noise on the drivers side!!:confused:

I very much doubt its the spring dislodging unless you have very long front shocks and are flexing it up regulary. sometimes they might take a while to seat properly after changing them, which might give you a bit of a loud bang, but it wouldnt happen continually.
