Yes those little LEDs that follow the shape of the light, are they meant to be on all day like daytime running lights? I have only noticed they turn on at the first position of the light switch.

And, on saying this, does the optional led lights that go in the bottom bumper work with these, or are they the daytime running lights?

Anyone who might have them, I'd like to see a picture if you could....

Cheers,
Phil

The led signature lights will come on when parking lights are selected (first position), or on full lights on. Auto will make all lights including LED signature lights when they are triggered. I think that they only come with the bixenons.
The DRL (additional LED lights) can bet set to come on with the ignition.....by wiring them that way in my case. I did try to setup the led signature lights with ignition on but got a lighting fault message on the MFD.

Does anyone know if the Daytime Runnning Lights in the MY12 D4 can be retrofitted to older D4s?

Learn something new everyday.... didn't know that the MY2012 came with daytime running lights.

I would imagine they would be a bit prone to damage while off roading, don't you think?

AND at $600:eek: drive with the parkers and fog lights on, heaps cheaper hey.

Hmm.. upon seeing the price, I'd rather put that money towards a front bar...

Yep - that's why I said I was 'thinking of adding them' - I stopped thinking when I came to my senses:o. I'd rather get some spotties instead. Was 'thinking about' Lightforce 170 Striker HID's. You can get a pair of those for much less than the little LED lights.

Mine either - I was asked if I wanted them, but said no as I had it booked for an ARB winch bar the following week anyway.

Spot on - that's all my fog lights ever get used for - not that there's a hell of a lot of fog between Perth & Kalgoorlie.

Am looking at a set of Monster Lights for the D3 to go on the front of the long Rhino platform. Slightly more than the DRLs but everything I have seen/read seems to suggest they are the best option.

In Victoria the use of fog lights is prohibited except in thick fog, so they are not to be used as DRL's.
The OE fog lamps are useless as such, the Bi-Xenons do a much better job in thick fog. We get a lot of it in these parts and I do a lot of night time driving in the country.
There are DRL's that fit as a replacement in the fog lamp position made by several companies some of which are dual brightness for daytime (full brightness) and for night time (reduced brightness). These cost no more and I'm pretty sure a fair bit less than $600.
The mounting of the lights (DRL's) has to be between certain heights and certain distances from edge of vehicle so mounting on a roof rack would not comply. I'm intending to fit them to my 2012 D4 but will probably wait until I've fitted the front bar (ARB/OL) before deciding which type to get.
What I don't understand is why, when DRL's are now standard in EU countries, doesn't LR modify the individual LED's in the signature lights to make them of useful brightness so as they can be DRL's????
