game problem

I run Steam both as a download service and game organiser.

For some reason when I open up HL1 the load screen(thats Gordon and his shotgun) is HUGE,, all icons are off the screen,, so I cant start a game to get to the options screen,,

any ideas?

Worth a try:

Launch STEAM
Go into your steam "LIBRARY",
right-click on Half-Life,
select "properties",
select "Launch options" button,
put in (or add at the end):
-width 800 -height 600
Click OK,
click close,
double-click half-life.

cant get to options icon but new game and load game are now visible!!

There's a new engine coming soon, too. Not sure about HL but an updated CS.

lots of HL1 maps still being made, some of which are very good,,
and a person could die of old age waiting for HL2 EP3:mad::mad:
