I made a ref to Clarke Rubber having blocks that were too short in another post.
I had a "lightbulb" moment: they can be cunningly extended using a sharp knife & gel-type super glue:

OK they are a bit different from OE (which I've had no luck tracing) but at least it's better than staring at dysfunctional holes in your bonnet as you drive. (My spare mounts on the tray upright)
