Late request for "County V8" inspection/help.

Hi there,

I know it's a bit late in the piece, but I am hoping someone out there with "County V8" knowledge and experience might be able to help me out on Saturday (tomorrow) arvo to have a quick look over a possible 1985 addition to our Landy fleet (which is currently at a lonely 1!).

I do not intend to hold anyone to their advice, I just need you to share your knowledge and perhaps help me understand the "deal breaker" things with a County V8. I know my way (roughly) around a P38 Rangie, but am really not too sure of what to look out for with these yet. I just don't want to buy a dead lemon although am happy to work at refreshing catching up on maintenace type of things.

I am currently living in the inner Eastern suburbs. The vehicle is located in the outer Eastern suburbs and I am happy to pick up and do the driving or meet you there (whatever is easier).

Happy to help, I'm in the outer Eastern Subs ( Wheelers Hill ) & will only be working on the Landie.
'85 Counties seem to be in my blood.
Is this the one at Healesville that has the gas tank in the rear instead of seats?

I have a few things to do in the morning, (shopping for Landie bits at TJM :D), which is in Dandy, and also down at Cranboune. Both are probably more S/E-ish than where you need to be, but I can meet you wherever if the time slot is right. Depends on what SWMBO needs.
And if Mick comes over, it will be a prelude to Sundays run,, ;)

BTW the guy selling that has made it difficult to register if the seats are'nt engineered:(. You will need to retrofit an original bench seat to get it thru Vicroads.

No prob's, will call when 15 min's away from Wheelers.

He will be being converted (and engineered if req'd) to omnibus 9-10 seats. Gas tank is gonna be removed and new scuba style tanks put underneath. The rest basically restored to original for Rego. Usual upgrades and improvements will follow as I learn more about the type and what we want it to do.

All this is assuming its decent and I can get onto it for the right price.
