Well, made a start on the big front end transformation today.
Lots of cutting with the grinder and it's looking like a massive job.
As soon as I am able I will put up some pics.

This will be interesting, i've seena few D2a lights (like in that PDF) in D1's but never a d3 light i thought they would be the wrong shape, did you get one with cornering lamps haha, they are really good offroad

I'm going to be a couple of weeks on these. I've got one side almost fitting. Just need to work out the final modifications to get it in properly and looking right. Then just duplicate to the drivers side.
Then sort the wiring, yet to find plugs for that.
Otherwise all going well!

I have to ask - why do this:confused:. Seems like a waste of effort - some well aimed 4300K HIDs will work as well.

I'm interested to see the end result but I'm pretty sure no one will be saying that :)

I just want to do something a little out of the ordinary.
If it was about the candle power, I'd just fit some spotties.

Sorry guys, work's kept me from all things rover the last few weeks.
The weather has not helped either.
I've done quit a bit. I have drawn up my brackets and now need to get them made up. meanwhile I have to tidy up my grinding work and organise the fibreglass gear to re-mould the bonnet and front of the guards. Fortunately I have access to good boat builder to assist in this area. I have my home internet sorted now so should be able to put some pics up this coming weekend.

a slight aside, but what is the thing that is below the rear tail lights when you take them out? (had to replace a globe today on mine, and theres this.. thing... like a tube thing with a cap below it)

Sorry guys, this has been a slow process. Things have progressed though. I now have all the pieces required, 75% of the body is rubbed and ready for priming. Should get the rest of that job done on Sunday.
Then back to the lights.
I admit, yes, I'm nervous, I have to fit them. That's easy.
Then I have to cut the guards and bonnet and reshape them with
Fibre glass. Fortunately I have the assistance of a really good boat builder here.
But my problem is time.
I work seven days a week.
That's the downside of owning your own business I suppose.
Too much work, not enough time to do it all!
My new carpets and leather seats are still in their original packaging awaiting their time.
But this needs to be done for my Xmas trip.
Oh, no photos at this point I can't be bothered with the process to get them from the camera to the forum. Too bad I can't just upload from this phone.
